What a Probily report is

A Probily report is a structured aggregate of records retrieved from public registries and the Wikimedia ecosystem at a specific moment in time. Each surfaced signal carries a verify link to its primary source so the reader can independently confirm before drawing a conclusion.

What a Probily report is not

• Not a verdict. A sanctions-list hit means a query matched a database record, not that the subject is guilty of a sanctions-triggering act. Collisions, transliteration variants, and stale entries are possible.
• Not legal advice. Probily does not employ lawyers and does not offer legal opinions on the records it surfaces. Consult counsel before acting on any flagged record.
• Not investigative journalism. Probily structures public data; it does not interview sources, obtain documents under embargo, or pursue scoops. Reports are research scaffolds, not finished journalism.
• Not verdicts. The «News article quick-check» product surfaces the citation footprint and entity-registry context of an article. It does not declare individual claims true / false. That step is the reader's.

Subject rights

If you are the subject of a Probily report (or you represent the subject) and you believe the report contains a factual error, an outdated record, or a privacy violation, contact the address below. Probily responds to legitimate takedown requests within 72 hours and will either:

• Correct the underlying data ingestion (if the issue is on Probily's side); or
• Suppress the specific report from public access (if the issue is the report's existence rather than its contents); or
• Forward the request to the upstream registry (if the contested record originates with a third party — Probily cannot unilaterally edit a sanctions-list record at OFAC or a court record at HUDOC).

How to file a takedown

Email a request to support@probily.tech with subject line «Probily Takedown — [your full name or entity name]» containing:

1. The URL of the Probily report in question.
2. The specific signal or section you contest, quoted verbatim.
3. The basis for your request — factual error, outdated record, privacy violation, copyright claim, or other.
4. Supporting evidence (if available) — a corrected primary-source URL, an updated record from the upstream registry, or a court order.
5. Your contact information and verification of your standing (subject themselves, legal representative, or guardian).

Probily will respond within 72 hours of receiving a well-formed request. Bad-faith requests (claims designed to suppress accurate public-record data without legal basis) will be archived and may be publicly listed on a future «contested requests» page.

Copyright

Probily reports embed quotations and structured data from third-party registries. Quotations fall under fair use / fair dealing (research and reporting context, limited extract, attribution preserved). Structured-data extracts (Wikidata, Wikipedia, OpenAlex, etc.) carry the source's license — CC0, CC-BY-SA-4.0, or per-source equivalent. Where a source license requires attribution, Probily emits the attribution inline in the report.

If you hold copyright in material that appears in a Probily report and you object to its inclusion, follow the takedown procedure above with the basis set to «copyright claim» and the supporting evidence including proof of ownership.

Liability

Probily reports are provided «as is» without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any specific use. Probily is not liable for decisions made on the basis of a Probily report. The reader is responsible for independent verification of every claim before acting on it.
